Wildlife in Odzala

Only a part of wildlife is shown here due to scarce chances to take proper pictures although many others were also seen. Some creatures were seen for the first time when it was captured by men. Here wildlife and people are living together, closely related to each other.

A forest buffalo is bathing (?). Buffaloes are often seen in savannah area in the park, but once their footprints were found in crop fields near the village.
A tree pangolin. It was found on a very high branch of a tree. A boy climbed a tree and dropped it.
Fur skin of an African palm civet. It is used as a costume for circumcision festivals. Its meat is preferred by men.

Hornbill. It was caught for food.

Viper. Its diameter seemed around 15 cm. It was very dangerous to approach, and fortunately it slowly moved away.

It seemed to be a baby chameleon as it was so small. It was found on a path in the forest.

I am not familiar with insects, and it was amazing that this had a transparent outer shell....

A beautiful tropical colored insect.

Coleopteran like a fossil. A villager came to show this rare creature to me.

Squirrel. Children caught and played with it. Squirrels and rats are children's friends.
Extra:Dogs in the village. They are kept as hunting dogs, but seem very timid and not very smart. Almost 90% of dogs have scars on their ears.
Extra 2:A cat in the village. After this photo was taken, it climbed this banana tree. There are much less cats than dogs.
